40 Years Ago Today: Reggie Jackson Becomes Mr. October

The title says it all.

Mr.October, the nickname that was bestowed upon Reginald Martinez Jackson following his three home run barrage in game six of the 1977 World Series.

No one had ever had such an offensive outburst prior to that game in a World Series, let alone the playoffs as a whole.

To think, one of the greatest offensive games ever in the history of professional baseball happened 40 years ago today.

Reggie Jackson may be a Hall of Famer, but he is forever known as Mr. October because of this one night, a night that will never be forgotten.
