Alabama Lands Two Recruits In One Day For 2019 Class

Alabama went up north and grabbed two offensive players for their 2019 class, a tight end and a wide receiver. While both are ranked in the top 300 by, they are ranked high in their home state. They are the first in their position to join the Crimson Tide’s 2019 class which now raises their total to 20, and still maintaining their number one recruiting ranks across the board. Offensively, they already have two pro-style quarterbacks, a running back and three offensive lineman.

First they grabbed four-star wide receiver John Metchie, ranked 276th nationally, 41st in his position and sixth in the state of New Jersey. Metchie is the second recruit from New Jersey to join the Crimson Tide as strong defensive end Antonio Alfano was the first on May 18th. Alfano is 56th overall, fifth in his position and number one in the state of New Jersey. It is safe to say most likely depending on rank, New Jersey seems to be a hot spot for recruits, even for the SEC.

Tight end Jahleel Billingsley is the first recruit out of the state of Illinois, ranked 294th nationally, 11th in his position and fourth in the state. Billingsley comes out of Phillips Academy in Chicago, and looking at his video on Hudl, he has more abilities for a tight end. He has moves and runs like a wide receiver, and it is not often you see a tight end run fast. If he plays on special teams, Billingsley could prove to be an excellent blocker and possibly cause a lot of fumbles.

Alabama is preparing fully offensively with either one of the Tagovailoa brothers working under center. Dan Enos and John Gattis have been on the move to make sure the offense is well staffed before 2019 comes along and both are going coast to coast to do so.
