Auburn Schedules Baylor, UCLA For Home And Home Series

Auburn appears to have been extremely busy making sure that their Power Five requirements are met, and they have done so yesterday filling those spots all the way up to 2028. The next three Power Five matchups will be on neutral sites through 2020 and will begin to host most of those at Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2022. From the look of the non-conference schedules for the next ten years, they tend to keep those matchups at home instead of continuing the trend of Power Five classics on neutral sites.

For the first time ever, Auburn will be facing UCLA visiting them in 2027 and then hosting the Bruins in 2028. The Bruins have looked to start a trend in between years so to speak playing SEC teams, starting with finishing their home and home series with Texas A&M last season. The earliest will be LSU (home 2021, away 2024), Georgia (home 2025, away 2026) and then finishing with Auburn. Since 1941, UCLA is 12-12-2 against the SEC with only a 1-2 record in the postseason.

Baylor has met Auburn on four seperate occassions, and will do so hosting them in 2025 and traveling to the Plains in 2026. The Bears lead the series 2-1-1 winning two of the last three and tying the third matchup in Waco. It would be the first time that Auburn would play a Big XII team in the regular season since playing Kansas State on the road. Auburn has faced the Big XII fourteen times and are only 8-6 against the conference. They had won five in a row against the Big XII dating back to 1987 before losing to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.

Auburn went to great lengths to be sure that their Power Five schedule is secure to be sure to save the trouble of waiting. Plucking teams out of the Big XII and the PAC-12 seems more challenging than continuing to play teams out on the East Coast.
