BELLATOR 206 JUST GOT MORE INTERESTING

You can make a very decisive case that man-for-man, pound-for-pound BELLATOR has the best welter weight division in MMA. The best and most fun thing a company can do with all those sharks is; put them all in a tank, and see what happens. Their welterweight grand prix tournament kicks off at arguably one of the company’s BEST CARDS EVER. It all goes down THIS Saturday night as the UFC is dark.

The co-main war is episode 4 in the rivalry between RAMPAGE JACKSON and WANDERLEI SILVA which promises to be a fire fight. The super fight main event between middleweight champion  GEGARD MOUSASI and welterweight champion RORY MACDONALD is for the heavier title; as  “THE RED KING”  looks to become MMA royalty. Not to be overlooked is a serious fight between AMBER LEIBROCK and ARLENE BLENCOWE. But not only does Rory have to deal with a bigger fighter in Gegard; but he has his own title defense DURING the tournament vs JON FITCH; who can’t be taken lightly. Providing Rory gets through him he’d take on the winner of ED RUTH and NEIMAN GRACIE. The other side of the bracket is PAUL DALEY vs heated and hated rival MVP. Oh and the 3rd fight on Saturday; kicking off the tourney; former champ DOUGLAS LIMA and ANDREY KORESHKOV. The alternate fight in the tournament happens in Mohegan Sun Connecticut;  and is  LORENZ LARKIN vs YAROSLAV AMOSOV.

Both Rory and Gegard have their work cut out for them; with far reaching repercussions on both sides regardless of outcome. Gegard after this fight has 3 left on his contract. He’s stated numerous times if he loses; he fights out his contract, goes on a long vacation, then goes home permanently. If he wins he’d like to 1st take on RAFAEL LOVATO JR then avenge a loss to “THE DRAGON”  LYOTO MACHIDA.  After that he’s toying with a move to light heavyweight or even heavyweight. As long as he wins Rory will be up to it in his knees with a string of welterweights looking for him.

But now; 50 CENT is getting involved. The multi-million dollar mogul has said he’s made an agreement with Bellator. The 1st thing he’s doing is giving $1 MILLION CASH to the tournament winner. So now it’s not just a strap on the line. Move over CONOR MCGREGOR and PROPER 12; but Bellator will be pushing 50’s champagne; LE CHEMIN DU ROI. That’s not all though; they will also use a new apparel line of his “GET THE STRAP”. We’re not done yet; 50 has said he also plans on bringing the best and brightest of Bellator to the main stream by managing fighters and bring them to scripted and unscripted projects. Which means you never know; you may just see an ED RUTH or AARON PICO staring in a sitcom or movie really soon.
