Originally BELLATOR 214 was supposed to share the night with the UFC. As it turns out; Bellator 214 provided plenty of high lights by themselves in a night of 1st round firefights. After a year of the company’s heavyweight Grand Prix to find a new champion; it was decided in under 40 seconds. RYAN “DARTH” BADER; one of the 1st to go from the UFC to Bellator became the company’s 1st ever concurrent champ-champ. The wrestler out of Arizona said all along although he was a FEDOR EMELIANENKO fan, he wouldn’t be intimidated by his “mystique”. The two came forward as Ryan landed a laser fast perfectly placed left on “THE LAST EMPEROR’S” jaw. It dropped the 42 year old Russian. Bader followed up with a right and some left hammerfists before referee MIKE BELTRAN could stop it at 35 seconds. Later, SCOTT COKER said he had no problems allowing Ryan to defend both belts as long as it didn’t create a logjam.

HENRY CORRALES got clipped and dropped off the bat from red hot AARON PICO. As he stayed in the pocket Henry got up and the duo exchanged in the clinch. Pico ripped the body and Corrales connected with an over the top right that crumbled the 22 year old phenom for the finish 67 seconds into the fight. R-TRUTH escorted the former JACK SWAGGER; now going by his real name; JAKE HAGER to the cage for his MMA debut. The former All-American wrestler at Oklahoma got stung by 41 year old JW KISER; who was giving up a huge height and reach advantage. Then in the clinch Jake was able to get a trip. Once on the mat the advantage was intensified. Hager attempted a kimura to no avail. From top control he landed some major right elbows which led him into locking in a triangle that Kiser tapped to just 2:09 into the opening round.
