Bobby Roode Wins United States Championship

Last night, the United States Championship officially became GLORIOUS as Bobby Roode defeated Jinder Mahal in the finals of the U.S. title tournament on SmackDown Live Tuesday night.

Roode earlier in the evening defeated Mojo Rawley to advance to the finals while Jinder Mahal defeated Xavier Woods to set up the main event clash.

Originally, the finals were NOT supposed to be last night.

SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan decided that Mahal and Roode would face each other in the main event, instead of having to wait until next week or even the Royal Rumble event.

We ended up getting a very good back and forth match that ended up with Roode emerging victorious in a hard fought victory.

What will happen now that Roode is the United States Champion?

A possible rivalry with Mahal or a returning Dolph Ziggler could be on the table. Ziggler could claim he is the real U.S. champion, sparking another intense match between the two who feuded near exclusively in the fall of 2017.

What we do know, is the fact we now have a GLORIOUS U.S. champ.

Congratulations Bobby Roode on the well deserved title win.
