NFL Championship Weekend Optimal Lineup | Bonehead Picks

Championship Weekend Optimal Lineup

I went back and forth this week deciding if I even wanted to play the final 2-game slate. I am knee deep in MLB research and I am getting prepared for my season long NFBC leagues. I plan to have three teams this season. I am never too fond of 2-game slates, but the prize money is such that I have to take a shot.

I picked Green Bay and Pittsburgh to move on to the Super Bowl earlier this week and I stand by those picks. Choosing players in DFS is a much different process. With the Packers so banged up, I think it is very difficult to pick which players will go off. I think Cook and Montgomery are in the best spots to produce so I decided to go with them. Since I think the Patriots/Steelers game will go under the total, I thought it was best to play Ryan and Jones together as they should be able to produce well against the Packers defense. I also added Gabriel, as I think he has big play potential and could easily become the #1 option if they decide to double team Jones. I also considered Sanu, but I like the upside of Gabriel better.

I was on Dion Lewis last week, but this week I think Blount gets 20 carries and at least one score as New England tries to control the ball. I also think Edelman get enough volume to make him a must play even if he does not get into the end zone. My final decisions were with my FLEX spot and Defense. I could punt defense and get a better flex play, but I love the Patriots in this spot to harass Big Ben and get double digit points. While I think neither team will score much, I think the Patriots can do more damage and I am willing to pay up for them. This left very little for my Flex spot, but I had been eyeballing Hooper all week. He had a very good game against the Packers earlier in the season and I think he may have a nice game on Sunday. I am fading Brown and Bell as the Steelers just do not perform nearly as well on the road and the controversy from earlier in the week for Brown cannot be overlooked. While I think both will do ok and get into double digits, I am not expecting the three times value I am looking for.

In all, I am playing 5 lineups in the bigger events including my OPTIMAL LINEUP which has about 35% of the total play. In addition, I have played some contrarian team stacks with obscure players hoping to hit the nuts. While I am sad to see the NFL season end, I am looking forward to the NHL and NBA playoffs and the best season of all in the MLB. Good Luck this weekend with your own selections!
