CARLOS CONDIT was supposed to fight MATT BROWN; but he pulled out due to injury setting up ALEX OLIVEIRA vs Carlos. Carlos has been in countless wars and this may truly be the beginning of the end for him. After tapping out to a guillotine choke 3:17 into round 2, he’s now on a 4 fight losing streak and 1-5 in his last 6.

It was back and forth early with both landing takedowns. Condit attempted a couple of chokes but Alex wound up getting saved by the horn. The pair get takedowns again in the second and Oliveira opened a cut on Carlos with a short elbow and some GNP. Alex just missed with an upkick but landed the next one solid. In a scramble Alex was able to cinch in the guillotine near the fence. Carlos tapped just before he went out as there was nothing he could do.

Undefeated ISRAEL ADESANYA stayed that way improving to 13-0, and for the 1st time the win didn’t come via KO/TKO. He defeated MARVIN VETTORI via split decision; shocking both fighters. The 28 and 24 year olds respectively chirped a lot leading up to the fight, and this is 1 where a possible re-match/trilogy happens before all’s said and done. Israel felt out Marvin throwing lots of fakes early on and staying out of his range. Adesanya started opening things up while his takedown defense was solid. He attacked Marvin with inside leg kicks, strikes, and an elbow that opened up a cut on the bridge of Vettori’s nose. Once Marvin did get the kickboxer down he really didn’t do any solid damage. Vettori was the aggressor in the 3rd round, but Israel counter striked well.

MICHELLE WATERSON ended her 2 fight losing streak; beating hometown fighter CORTNEY CASEY also via split decision. Michelle hit and moved early and often and kept Casey chasing her. Eventually the much taller Cortney stung “THE KARATE HOTTIE” with a right hand. Michelle landed a takedown from the clinch along the cage. While Cortney attempted an armbar (something she’d do multiple times); Waterson landed solid GNP from top position. Although Casey was the aggressor moving forward and stalking; Michelle was better in the clinch and on the mat. Michelle momentarily dropped Cortney with a front kick. On the mat again Casey kept going after Waterson’s arm; but time ran out before she’d tap. 20 seconds more; well maybe it would have been a different story. Casey’s biggest mistake was not keeping the fight on the feet as she now falls to 7-6 and 1-3 in her last 4.

ANTONIO CARLOS JUNIOR got TIM BOETSCH to tap to a RNC 4:28 into their fight. MUSLIM SALIKHOV was very impressive KO’ing the UFC debuting RICKY RAINEY 4:12 into round 2. JOHN MORAGA picked up a unanimous decision win over WILSON REIS who’s now lost 3 in a row. BRAD TAVARES won his 4th in a row. He TKO’ed KRZYSZTOF JOTKO 2:16 of the 3rd round. DAN MORET was KO’d by GILBERT BURNS 59 seconds into round 2. Dana White Contender Series fighter LAUREN MUELLER had a successful debut winning by unanimous decision over 15th ranked female flyweight SHANA DOBSONDHIEGO LIMA fell to YUSHIN OKAMI by unanimous decision. ADAM WIECZOREK got ARJAN BHULLAR to tap to an omoplata 1:59 of round 2.   ALEJANDRO PEREZ TKO’d MATTHEW LOPEZ by strikes 3:42 into round 2. “COOL HAND” LUKE SANDERS won by unanimous decision over PATRICK WILLIAMS.
