The UFC has had a love/hate relationship with CRIS CYBORG in the past; but it was Cris that in theory “saved UFC 222”. Until the day comes that the company brings in anywhere from say 8 to at most 20 true female featherweights from around the world, they will be on a similar ferris wheel. That pattern of bringing in some truly talented 135ers and blowing them up to 145 (not withstanding a superfight with AMANDA NUNES).

YANA KUNITSKAYA; INVICTA’s bantamweight champion was getting her UFC break in a big way. To be truthful outside of a quick right from Cyborg that stunned the Russian; she didn’t do that bad. She got a takedown, worked well in the clinch, and exchanged knees. A straight right dropped Yana and she was in trouble. The Cyborg that said she’d try more jiu jitsu turned back the clock. Cyborg swarmed Kunitskaya with shots till referee HERB DEAN jumped in to stop it 3:25 into the fight.

Cyborg’s 17th win via KO/TKO gives her 20 for her career and extends her win streak to 10. Post fight; the 28 year old Russian said she plans to go back down to bantamweight. DANA WHITE and Cyborg both teased possible dates for when and if a fight with Nunes would happen. While Cris remains at the top of the most feared fighter list; TIME is the only thing on earth undefeated. One has to wonder when the chinks in Cyborg’s 32 year old armor start to show up and slow her down.
