DANA WHITE  had quite a busy Tuesday. Immediately after the Conor-Floyd presser in LA he flew back to Vegas to get an up close and personal viewing of his new series “Dana White’s Contender Series”.  With the boss in attendance and UFC contracts on the line, there would be guaranteed sparks. The card took place in The Ultimate Fighter Gym.

Flyweight JOBY SANCHEZ was dropped early by MANY VAZQUEZ. He managed though to dig deep come back strong and win by unanimous decision. CHARLES “KID DYNAMITE” BYRD was taking on a tough opponent in JAMIE PICKETT. Jamie started out the aggressor but the tables got turned quickly. Charles got on top and cinched in an arm triangle so tight that Pickett went to sleep and was convulsing on the mat before he was awoken. The 1st UFC contract went to lightweight BOSTON SALMON who was precision like in his striking, unanimous decision win over “PRETTY” RICKY TURCIOS; which was his 1st career defeat. AZUNNA ANYANNU was riding a 4 fight win streak was taking on the equally bad ass GREGG REBELLO; who has 7 1st round finishes. This one went to the 2nd round as the two heavyweights banged through the 1st. Azunna finally landed a left on Gregg’s jaw then unleashed a hellish furry, KOing Rebello 3:04 into round 2. He then went to where Dana was sitting and let it be known he wanted that UFC contract.

The main event was between two red hot featherweights; MATT BESSETTE; on a 7 fight win streak; and  KURT HOLOBAUGH. Kurt landed early and often and tore up Matt. Holobaugh at 2:59 into the fight landed a counter right that dropped Bessette to the mat for the KO win. It also got him a UFC contract. Dana was then interviewed saying how much he was impressed with everyone; before leaving to go to Toronto; which is the next May-Mac presser later today.
