David Ortiz, His Terrible Picks and His Magnetic Persona

Tonight is game seven of the 2017 World Series. It has by far been one of the best World Series’ we have seen in the past 20 years. I didn’t think anything could top last year’s World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians but boy I was wrong.

I am not just talking about this back and forth battle between the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers.

I am talking about how terrible David Ortiz is at making predictions and his attention grabbing antics.

Maybe he should come out of retirement and go back to playing baseball, probably better off.

Fox’s MLB pre-game show has been tremendous during the playoffs, especially during the World Series.

The foxies usually put on a good show no matter what when the national spotlight is on them, but this year has by far been their best.

Kudos to Keith Hernandez for jumping over to Fox for the postseason and kudos to Hernandez and Frank Thomas for being able to keep it together when hearing David Ortiz ramble on.

The superstars on the panel are by far Kevin “Burchie” Burkhardt and Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez has turned Ortiz’s rambling into a spectacle, seemingly baiting him in and then catching lightning in a bottle. Ortiz will go from being incoherent to sensational and back again in a constant loop. You would think he is a real life Vine.

At the end of it all, even with Ortiz being wrong with every game prediction, he is cash money.

His larger than life persona meshes so well with Burkhardt and Rodriguez because you get so much analysis from all angles and pure entertainment. Throw in Thomas, the straight shooter and Hernandez, the knowledgeable one who was indeed NOT the second spitter . . .

and you have yourself some gold.

Gold Jerry, gold.

Also, whoever Ortiz picks, bet against him!
