TJ DILLASHAW like almost every athlete wants to be considered “the GOAT”. He’s on a push to get himself into the conversation. Right now he’s a rejuvenated young 32 years old. Almost immediately after picking up his 15th win at UFC 217; regaining the bantamweight title his aspirations became known. His desire to take on the “looked at GOAT”; DEMETRIOUS JOHNSON. Although TJ’s on a 3 fight win streak; presently he’s not booked for his next fight. He has said however it won’t be vs bitter rival and the man he took the belt off of; CODY GARBRANDT. The on again off again talks for a super fight with DJ have simmered tremendously.

So what could be next for him?; and get him into the discussion. He already has a pair of wins over former champion RENAN BARAO, split with RAPHAEL ASSUNCAO, and suffered loses to JOHN DODSON, and DOMINICK CRUZ. While DJ is content still with taking on challengers in his own division, a pathway for him is taking shape. Dodson just fought the last fight on his contract and said he wants to stay with the UFC and by all accounts the company would like him to stay. That’s the starting point. Get that loss back. From there; there’s a slew of talent chomping at the bit in ALJAMAIN STERLING, MARLON MORAES, and JIMMIE RIVERA. He hasn’t said he’s done fighting yet; as a matter of fact quite the opposite, there’s a rematch with CRUZ. Then conceivably giving CODY his rematch. All while DJ runs the flyweight division.

If Dillashaw say is able to run the table with wins over Assuncao, Dodson, Cruz, Cody, Moraes, then DJ that would give him 21 wins. A number that right now would put him at the top of the most UFC wins list. Thus no matter what you think of him, would in fact put him in the GOAT discussion. Could it be done? Sure. Will it be done? Well; that’s another thing. If he wants it bad enough, that’s his path for an ultimate legacy.
