One of the New England Patriots defensive heroes of Super Bowl 51 is coming back home.
Free agent linebacker Dont’a Hightower is returning to the New England Patriots, agreeing to a four-year deal worth $43.5 million, $19 million guaranteed.

Hightower was a hot commodity in the free agent market, so hot, the New York Jets sent him birthday cupcakes.
Hightower would have been a huge loss for the Patriots, but with him back in the fold, the Patriots are looking even stronger than last year’s Super Bowl team. New England added star receiver Brandin Cooks last week to bolster their mediocre receiving core.
There is seemingly no stopping the Patriots, and they can get even stronger if they decided to trade Jimmy Garoppolo away for draft picks.
Tom Brady and the Patriots may be looking at another Super Bowl win at this pace.
