Eagles Stun the World

Last night’s Super Bowl barn-burner will be remembered as a game in which we saw the most combined total offensive yardage EVER in a playoff game, let alone a Super Bowl.

However, it was the night that the Nick Foles story finished with a happy ending.

Foles led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 41-33 Super Bowl victory, bringing the first ever trophy to Philadelphia, completing a miracle season that no one would have ever dreamed could happen once Carson Wentz went down with a season ending injury.

The story of Foles is the equivalent of a fairy tale. He made every throw and looked like he has been playing at such a high level for years. You would never had known he nearly retired from football a few years ago after struggling in St. Louis.

As far as the game goes, with all of the offensive production, there were no dull moments. The ball constantly jetted down the field on screen passes, deep balls and superior running games. It is very surprising to many that these defenses couldn’t stop the opposing offense . . .

Until we neared the two minute warning of the fourth quarter.

Brandon Graham’s strip sack of Tom Brady proved to be the nail in the coffin as the Eagles recovered the fumble and extended the lead to eight.

Brady just didn’t have enough time to complete the comeback like he always did.

Congratulations to the Eagles and the city of Philadelphia on the Super Bowl win.

Just don’t burn down the city.
