Indians Get a Helping Hand

The Cleveland Indians have just acquired the best available bullpen arm, adding much needed depth to the back end of their bullpen.

Brad Hand is heading to Cleveland from San Diego in exchange for top prospect Francisco Mejia. Mejia, a catcher, is one of the best prospects in Major League Baseball at a position that is very hard to fill with a quality bat.

Cleveland is also getting reliever Adam Cimber from San Diego in the deal.

Hand, an all-star this season, in 44.1 innings has a 3.05 ERA and has struck out 65. He could be the necessary piece to compliment Andrew Miller and Cody Allen to put Cleveland in World Series contention. Hand being a lefty is also an added bonus.

Cleveland is hoping he will truly be a helping hand come October.
