With less than three weeks until the start of the Major League Baseball season, the top free agent pitcher available has finally found a home.

The Philadelphia Phillies have added former Cy Young award winner Jake Arrieta to their rotation, giving them a much needed proven ace alongside Aaron Nola.

It is a three year deal worth $75 million that will only become official if Arrieta passes his physical.

Arrieta is coming off of a down year for his standards, finishing with a 3.53 ERA after three outstanding seasons which included a 22 win, Cy Young season. Injuries and a drop in velocity surely scared away teams from looking to sign Arrieta to any type of long term deal this off-season, playing into the hands of a Philadelphia Philles team that is on the rise with a bunch of young talent.

Could Arrieta regain his Cy Young form, even in a very hitter friendly Philadelphia ballpark?

If so, Philadelphia could be your surprise team if 2018.
