Jerry’s Kids’ Upcoming Fantasy Football Drafts

I can smell football season in the air. The smell of Icy Hot and sweaty jock straps. I can hear the pop of a defensive linebacker tackling a running back; football is right around the corner.

Here is a preview of Jerry’s Kids’ calendar. First up, August 12th is the deadline to drop players in my dynasty league. I can keep one player per position for a maximum of three players and as long as none of these players are seriously hurt it looks like I’m keeping QB Matt Ryan, WR Brandin Cooks, and TE Jordan Reed.

Matt Ryan finished second in QB points behind Aaron Rodgers with 347.46 points according to, so I can’t afford to let him go.

Brandin Cooks was traded to the New England Patriots and while there are many mouths to feed in New England with Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola, and newly acquired TE Dwayne Allen from Indianapolis, I feel like Cooks has a very high ceiling in New England and hopefully he can stretch the defense with his speed. Cooks finished eighth in WR points with 163.30 and I look for that number to go up with Tom Brady throwing him the ball.

Jordan Reed’s toe is still bothering him from last year, but I don’t really have another player on the team that I can keep besides in a different position, RBs Jonathan Stewart, Tevin Coleman or Eddie Lacy as of this writing I am leaning towards keeping Reed, but I will continue to monitor his injury before the drop deadline of 12 August. I anticipate Jonathan Stewart losing substantial touches to newly drafted Christian McCaffrey, McCaffrey may be someone that I will look to draft in the dynasty league, because I don’t have that back that I am looking to keep every year and I think that is hurting me in this league.

Reed, however, scored 102 fantasy points last year and ranked ninth for TEs, and in 2015 finished third on the TE list with 157.20 points, so Reed has a high ceiling if he can remain healthy.

The rest of my current team as of now looks like this:

QB Matt Ryan, QB Kirk Cousins, WR Doug Baldwin, WR Davante Adams, WR DeAndre Hopkins, WR Brandin Cooks, WR Kelvin Benjamin, WR Alshon Jeffery, WR Brandon Marshall, WR Michael Floyd, RB Matt Forte, RB Tevin Coleman, RB Jonathan Stewart, RB Eddie Lacy, and TE Jordan Reed.

I would love to keep Hopkins too. I really believe he will have a bounce back season this year with a different quarterback under center not named Brock Osweiler and I may just try to redraft Hopkins.

The dynasty draft is scheduled for 26 August and I have another draft for my watercooler league on 27 August. I’m excited. It’s about to get REAL!!!
