Jerry’s World Chargers and Saints

Yesterday, I picked the veteran Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts to advance to the AFC Championship game via the expense of the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs and I was wrong. I gave the Colts too much credit and I didn’t give the Chiefs enough credit. I was wrong. The Chiefs have earned a spot against either the New England Patriots or the L.A. Chargers next week.

And I am going to go out on a limb and say that Philip Rivers will get his first win today against Tom Brady, maybe I am just hoping the Chargers win so much that I am being biased. But the Patriots aren’t as good as they have been in recent years and I think its Philip Rivers’ time. We’ll see.

I also said the L.A. Rams would beat my Dallas Cowboys. I stated that the Cowboys must stop the Rams’ run game and they didn’t. I said that for the Cowboys to have a chance in the NFC Divisional game yesterday, they would have to get Amari Cooper going and that didn’t happen either. Cooper was good for 6 receptions for 65 yards and 1 TD, not terrible, but not enough to surpass the Rams, especially when the Rams shut down the Cowboys’ run game to the tune of 50 yards compared to the Rams’ 273 yards rushing. The Rams controlled the clock 36:13 to the Cowboys’ time of possession 23:47 a tactic the Cowboys like to employ. And for those reasons the Dallas Cowboys fell short and their season ended.

In today’s NFC Divisional game, I have the New Orleans Saints outlasting the Philadelphia Eagles. I just don’t think Mr. playoff-Nick Foles can get it done against the high-flying Saints.

In Jerry’s World, the Chargers will advance to the AFC Championship game to play the Chiefs and the Saints will advance to play the Rams next week in the NFC Championship game, let’s see if I am right.
