Keeper League Draft in Six Days

It’s almost time for my keeper league draft and to recap I kept Matt Ryan, Brandin Cooks and Jordan Reed. I have the third pick in the draft on Saturday and Mike Evans, Melvin Gordon, Jay Ajayi and Jordan Howard are the top four prospects available. I know I need a running back, but it’s going to be hard to pass up Evans; he is a BEAST. The idea is to hopefully pick up some running backs in the second and third rounds. I’m not a proponent of the zero running back but we are talking about Mike Evans here.

There are still guys like Todd Gurley, Leonard Fournette, Isiah Crowell, Lamar Miller, Christian McCaffrey, Joe Mixon, Carlos Hyde T.Y. Montgomery, and Dalvin Cook, that can hopefully be taken in the second and third rounds.

I really want McCaffrey though. I watched him last night (my time), and this guy is impressive. I know that taking him in the first round is too high, but I also don’t want anyone snatching him up on me before my turn comes back around 14 picks later in round two. It’s a keeper league and in keeper leagues, you tend to reach for young players you can hold on to for years to come. McCaffrey could be special for years to come like David Johnson and I want him on my team.

And to make matters worse, the guy that won the league last year traded Matt Forte and Michael Floyd to me for Devonta Freeman. Matt Forte finished the 20th RB in our league with 143 points, and is older than dirt and Floyd scored a measly 66 points in the league, while Freeman finished the seventh RB with 225 points, so needless to say my first year in the league wasn’t a success, hence the third pick in the draft this year.

So, this year, I’m going to make a splash, and of course if my guy is not there, I also have a plans B and C, stay tuned to find out who will be on my keeper league team.
