CES MMA 44 from the Twin River Casino in Lincoln Nebraska was where the action went down Friday night. It all started with REGINALDO FELIX getting his 1st career win with a 1 punch ko at 15 seconds into round 1.It also sent ADAM QUITT to a 1-5 record and a 3 fight losing streak. A unanimous decision win for KERRI KENNESON was her first win in her first pro fight. It wound up being JENNIFER LEIGH NORRIS first career loss. 24 year old prospect PAUL SIMS, making his pro debut put himself into a 3 fight win streak by scoring a unanimous decision over TONY ODENJUSTIN SUMTER took a unanimous decision victory over BRIAN SPARROW; which was Brian’s first career loss. Prospect   CARLOS CANDELARIO remained undefeated moving to 5-0 as a pro and 8-0 total thanks to some serious ground and pound. The TKO victory thanks to those punches came at 1:12 of the first round. It drops TIM WHEELER to 2-3 and on a 3 fight losing streak. MIKE RODRIGUEZ defeated ALEC HOOBAN by TKO from punches 4:46 into round one; ending Alec’s three fight win streak.  EMMANUEL  WALO  remained red hot, extending his win streak to five. The win over JON MANLEY  was also his 8th decision victory.

SEAN SORIANO hit his targets at will; first by strikes, then by knees and devastating leg kicks. The former UFC fighter ended his 2 fight losing streak with some great defense too, stuffing some mediocre take down attempts. The kicks were just too much to take for JACOB BOHN as he turned away at 3:21 into round 2.

KEVIN RAY SEARS had some solid moments against GREG RIBZ REBELLO, but Greg wound up being too much in the long haul for Kevin. The Rhode Island native Greg was able to take a much better wrestler down to the mat and keep him there with a flurry of hammer fists. Then in a scramble he was able to cinch in an anaconda guillotine at 4:47 of round 3 giving him a submission victory and a career record of 22-7. REYNALDO TRUJILLO was challenging  MATT THE MANGLER BESSETTE for his featherweight belt. Trujillo, now 21-19 with 14 KOTKO victories showed a lot of heart staying in with the champ, but Matt’s strikes were deadly accurate.

In between rounds 2 and 3 the cage side doctor came in to check on Reynaldo and declared him unfit to continue. Matt improved to 22-7, and a 7 fight win streak with 7 KOTKO wins. The former Bellator fighter then let the UFC know loud and clear he’s the best featherweight in the world not in their company and would welcome the opportunity.
