Long-time sportscaster Dick Enberg has passed away at the age of 82.

Enberg was reportedly found in his California home very early Friday morning by his wife Barbara. It is believed that Enberg suffered a fatal heart attack.

The San Diego Padres released a statement on Friday morning regarding Enberg’s passing:

“We are immensely saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of legendary broadcaster Dick Enberg. Dick was an institution in the industry for 60 years and we were lucky enough to have his iconic voice behind the microphone for Padres games for nearly a decade. On behalf of our entire organization, we send our deepest condolences to his wife, Barbara, and the entire Enberg family.”

Enberg was one of the best in the business in regards to play-by-play commentary for nearly 60 years in many different sports including tennis, the National Football League, Major League Baseball and more.

Whether he yelled “Oh my!” or “touch em’all”, Enberg had a way to connect the audience to what they were watching emotionally, physically and mentally until he retired in 2016.

Our deepest condolences to Enberg’s family and friends.
