College football will be starting in less than a month. There will be plenty of attention on whether Alabama will continue its dominance, how Clemson will defend its national title, and whether Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson can win a second Heisman Trophy. However, it is possible that Jackson isn’t even the best quarterback in college football as there are numerous talented signal callers throughout college campuses. There are a couple of big time gunslingers that play in the Big 12 Conference as Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph and Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield will continue to pile up yards and touchdowns but college football fans should watch PAC-12 football if they want to see the best collection of quarterbacks in the country.

USC quarterback Sam Darnold is a redshirt sophomore quarterback who can make a case as the best quarterback in college football. His prototype frame, arm, and poise led the Trojans to an electric second half of the 2016 season which included a terrific Rose Bowl win over Penn State. He is talented beyond his young age and there are many people that believe that he will be the number one overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He is USC’s best quarterback since former Heisman Trophy winner and national champion Matt Leinart.

UCLA junior quarterback Josh Rosen had an up-and-down 2016 season but his talent is very evident. He is a former impact true freshman who is a former 1st team Freshman All-America selection. In just two seasons at UCLA, Rosen ranks sixth on the all-time school lists for passing yardage (5,583), total offense (5,527) and completions (429). Josh Rosen will be the biggest reason that UCLA will be headed back to a bowl game after missing a bowl game last season.

Washington State senior quarterback Luke Falk was talented enough to enter the 2017 NFL Draft but decided to return. Falk has an opportunity to break school records for passing yards, completions, passing touchdowns, and most wins by a Washington State quarterback. That would be impressive considering quarterbacks like Drew Bledsoe and Ryan Leaf once played for Washington State. Luke Falk is a great quarterback and even better than his rival Jake Browning, the quarterback of the more successful Washington Huskies. College football fans who want to see a variety of quality quarterbacks should watch PAC-12 football for great quarterback play.
