Matt Harvey Signs With Angels

The Dark Knight is moving to the west coast.

The Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a one year deal with Matt Harvey. According to reports, the deal is worth around $11 million.

Harvey’s career has taken a downward spiral ever since his game five performance in the 2015 World Series against the Kansas City Royals. His meltdown in the 9th inning when going for the complete game messed with his head from that point on.

Harvey has had injury riddled seasons as well as a complete loss of command. He became a prima donna when it came to the New York media and Mets officials to the point the team gave up on him and traded him to the Cincinnati Reds for Devin Mesoraco mid-season.

Harvey pitched okay as a Red, but nowhere near where he once was. He went 7-7 with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP as a Red in 2018, while going 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP with the Mets in 27 innings pitched.

The Angels are hoping that this one year gamble is well worth the money invested. If Harvey is ever able to get back on track, he has ace potential, something the Angels could really use.
