Bud Harrelson’s name hasn’t been mentioned in a long time on the main stream news. His most recent days have been spent with the Long Island Ducks, a franchise in the Atlantic League which gives players who are trying to revitalize their careers an opportunity to play baseball. It has been a long time since he has been associated with the New York Mets, resulting in a lack of his name being mentioned on sports telecasts and in the papers.

Harrelson is back in the news, but not for a good reason.

Harrelson has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. There is no known cure for this disease, which results in crippling effects such as memory loss and the inability to do basic things such as tying your shoes.

The tweet above from the New York Post features an interview with Harrelson in which he talks about the disease and how he is coping with the diagnosis.

We here at Boneheadpicks.com wish Harrelson all the best in his fight against this terrible disease.
