The New York Mets continue to make moves this off-season.

After being involved in trade rumors regarding Miami Marlins catcher JT Realmuto, the New York Mets decided on Sunday that the asking price would be too steep. The organization did not want to part with Brandon Nimmo, Michael Conforto or Amed Rosario. So, they decided to sign catcher Wilson Ramos to a two-year deal.

Ramos and the Mets reportedly agreed to the two-year deal which will also feature bonuses. It is being reported that the deal is for two years and $19 million with the potential to get it up to $26 million. Although exact terms have not been disclosed as of this writing, it would most likely be performance based as well as his ability to stay on the field.

Ramos hit .306 with 15 HR and 70 RBI in 2018, splitting time between the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies. Ramos is a career .273 hitter.

He will surely be a welcomed addition to the New York Mets lineup, as it is expected Ramos will start with Travis d’Arnaud backing him up.

Barring either one can stay healthy.
