Mike Minor Latest Reliever to Sign Big Contract

This year’s Major League Baseball off-season looks to be continuing a trend that his been very popular in recent years:

Big spending on relievers.

The Texas Rangers have looked to Mike Minor to fill a massive hole in a middle of the road bullpen.

The deal is worth a whopping $28 MILLION over three years. Pretty surreal for the former top prospect who had been deemed the next great lefty starter in Atlanta.

Minor over 77.2 Innings last season went 6-6 with a 2.55 ERA and 6 saves. He struck out 88 and had a WHIP barely over 1.01.

Minor may end up being the Rangers answer at the middle relief or even closer role. They just are hoping that contract ends up being worthwhile.
