Nelson Cruz and Twins Agree to Deal

The Minnesota Twins have money to spend and they’re looking to put together a contender in 2019.

The team announced on Thursday that they have signed six-time All-Star Nelson Cruz to a one-year $14.3 million deal.

Cruz has a club option for 2020.

Cruz spent that past few seasons in Seattle and has the most home runs since 2014 than any other player in the Major Leagues.

Minnesota is banking on Cruz having another season or two left in the tank, hopefully propelling them to an American League Central title. The American League Central is a much weaker division than in years past as the Cleveland Indians are seemingly in rebuild mode even though they still have one of the stronger lineups and pitching staffs in baseball.

Will Cruz be able to help the Twins take the top spot of the division?
