NFL Week 17 Wrap Up and Wild Card Weekend

Week 17 ended on a very high note with my picks as well as with DFS. I finally reached 20 wins in a week, going 20-12 with my picks. I was only 8-8 versus the spread, but I was a stellar 12-4 with the O/U. I hit a season high 7 parlays with the Giants, Packers, Jaguars, Browns, Patriots, Chiefs, and Broncos. It was a great week that got me over .500 for the season. I now sit at 123-129-4 against the spread and 131-121-4 with the O/U’s for a total of 254-250-8 on the season. We are at a loss of $2.1K for the season considering the juice at $110 per transaction as we head into the playoffs.

DFS on Draft Kings went very well as the OPTIMAL LINEUP scored 157.6 points cashing across the board in all GPP’s entered. In all, I cashed with 5 of 11 lineups in GPP’s with my best at 186.24 followed by a 2nd lineup with 181.04 points. Aaron Rodgers led my main team with 37.2 points. Devonta Freeman had 28.7, Golden Tate totaled 20.4, and Tyreek Hill continued to amaze with 17.1 points including a 95 yard punt return for a TD. It was a very satisfying way to end the regular season. I also cashed GPP’s with my only lineups in the NHL and NBA to complete a perfect day.

My SUPERBOWL selection for this year was the Pittsburgh Steelers. I had them beating Carolina, and we know the debacle that became. I picked three correct NFC playoff teams in Green Bay, Detroit, and Seattle. I also had three correct in the AFC with New England, Pittsburgh, and Oakland.

I am not moving off of Pittsburgh to win it all even though they have to go thru New England. I like Seattle and Green Bay to win at home next week in the NFC and Oakland and Pittsburgh to win in the AFC. In the Divisional Round I like Dallas over Green Bay and Atlanta at home over the Seahawks leaving us with Dallas and Atlanta in the NFC Championship game. I think Dallas has too much for the Falcons and will represent the NFC in the SUPERBOWL. In the AFC, I see both New England and Pittsburgh winning in the divisional round and Pittsburgh winning the AFC over New England in an epic battle. My SUPERBOWL score is Pittsburgh 31 Dallas 27.

The Current Odds to win the SUPERBOWL are below. For pure value, I think Pittsburgh, Kansas City, and Green Bay are the best bets. While I love the 100/1 on 4 teams, I do not see any of those teams having a chance to win it all.

New England – 17/10

Dallas – 15/4

Pittsburgh, Kansas City – 9/1

Atlanta – 19/2

Green Bay – 10/1

Seattle – 14/1

New York – 18/1

Oakland, Houston, Miami, and Detroit – 100/1

For DFS this week, we have two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday. It is great to have everyone back playing 100%. At QB, Rodgers is the top pick at $7.9K but has to go against a tough Giants defense. Big Ben is next at $7.6K followed by Wilson at $7K. At RB, Bell is far and away the top choice at $10.3K. No one else is over $7K with Ajayi next at $6.8K. The big two of Brown at $9.4K and O. Beckham Jr. at $9.1K lead WR’s with Nelson 3rd at $8K. Jimmy Graham is the top TE at $5.3K with the questionable Green next at $4.5K for the Steelers. The Texans are the top defense at $3.8K with Seattle at $3.7K and Pittsburgh at $3.5K. I think the pricing is very solid and will force players to make crucial decisions if you want to play the top players. I always like to put together a “first look” lineup and it was dominated with Seahawks. I will post my OPTIMAL LINEUP on Friday.
