UFC FIGHT NIGHT 107 from the O2 ARENA in LONDON, was a sold out arena overflowing with emotions. Some of those emotions started to boil over on Friday during the ceremonial weigh ins where a couple of fighters had to be separated from each other. Those emotions were of anger. For one man; BRAD ONE PUNCH PICKETT; the week was filled with love and joy. It would be the final fight for the hometown hero. The card however did lose two bouts at the last minute. IAN ENTY ENTWISTLE missed weight for now the 2nd time in a row with 24 hours before a fight; had the doctors pull him for an undisclosed reason. Thus scrapping his bout vs BRETT THE PIKEY JOHNS. Just before the card started; TOM BREESE had his fight against OLUWALE HOLY WAR ANGEL BAMGBOSE dropped because Tom was having heartbeat issues.

In the prelims:

LINA ELBOW QUEEN LANSBERG who had a 6 fight winning streak stopped by CYBORG at Fight Night 95; got back on the winning ways defeating by unanimous decision LUCIE BULLET PUDILOVA, who was riding a 3 fight win streak of her own and making her UFC debut. In a bout of 2 young gun English middleweights BRADLEY BEAR SCOTT won a split decision over SCOTT ASKHAMMARC BONECRUSHER DIAKESE, who not only refused to shake hands with TEEMU PACU PACKALEN at the weigh ins, but swatted him out of the way; KO’d Pacu with a thunderous right hand:

LEON ROCKY EDWARDS increased his win streak to 3, and ended VINCENTE THE SILENT ASSASSIN LUQUE 4 fight win streak by unanimous decision. TIMOTHY JOHNSON survived a battle with DANIEL OMIELANCZUK by winning a split decision. FRANCISCO BODAO BARROSO won a unanimous decision over DARREN THE DENTIST STEWART. In a really hard fought bout IRISH JOE DUFFY beat RAZA MAD DOG MADADI by unanimous decision.

Entering the main card:

Two young upcoming featherweights battled first. ARNOLD ALMIGHTY ALLEN and his 11-1 record and 4 fight win streak met up with MAKWAN MR. FINFLAND AMIRKANI. He also was riding a 4 fight win streak and has 9 wins via submission. In the end it was Arnold barely edging out the split decision victory.

Just 3 months ago in Sacramento California, Brad Pickett was the challenger for URIJAH FABER in HIS last bout in his hometown, now it was time for 1 PUNCH to end his career in front of HIS hometown crowd. Originally it was to be against HENRY BRIONES, but a week ago he needed to pull out. Stepping up was MARION CHITO VERA; a very dangerous fighter who had legions to gain by this fight, and the bout would be at a catchweight. Just based on emotion and hope it could have been booked as the co or main event. With just 64 seconds left in the bout, Marion caught Pickett with a head kick and followed it up with 3 hammer fists as REFEREE GRANT WATERMAN jumped in to stop it; just as a woozy Brad was getting to his feet. It’s also worth noting that on 2 of the judges scorecards Brad was winning. Chito who was booed during the fight (and lead up to it); praised Pickett and the London crowd, which they appreciated. Brad during the post fight interview kept his emotions in check, but it was very noticeable that he was holding tears back as the hometown crowd cheered him. Pickett has said he plans on spending a lot of time with his family and going to plenty of  TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC soccer games. He has also hinted about opening his own gym in EAST LONDON, and starting his own MMA league. He finishes his career at 25-14 10 wins via submission and on a 3 fight losing streak.

In the actual co main event the 9th ranked welterweight GUNNAR NELSON who had 11 of his 15 wins coming by submission picked up another one by making ALAN BRAHMA JOUBAN tap out 46 seconds into round 2 to guillotine choke.

Then in the main event 6th ranked light heavyweight COREY OVERTIME ANDERSON was battling  4th ranked and hometown hero JIMI POSTER BOY MANUWA. 14 of Jimi’s 16 wins come from KO/TKO as he’s a dangerous striker. Corey had some very early shoots stuffed and wiffed on some strike attempts. Poster Boy saw an opening and jumped through it; throwing a vicious left hook to Corey’s head that put him to sleep just 3:05 into round 1. Jimi’s post fight interview was quite interesting. A– he called out whoever wins the DC-RUMBLE fight at UFC 210. B- he said he wants nothing to do with “that steroid user” JON JONES, and that taints everything he’s done. C- if CONOR-FLOYD happens, he should fight 2 weight class boxing champion DAVID THE HAYMAKER HAYE on the same card.
