Phillies Reel In Realmuto From Marlins

The Phillies caught the big fish at the catcher position.

After months of being on the trading block, the Miami Marlins finally traded all-star catcher JT Realmuto away. Realmuto has been dealt to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for multiple prospects and international bonus pool money.

Jorge Alfaro and Sixto Sanchez are the names that stick out in this deal. Alfaro, who had been acquired from the Texas Rangers a few seasons ago in the Cole Hamels deal, has been a bust for the most part but will be getting a fresh start.

Meanwhile, the Phillies are getting arguably the best catcher in baseball to help their loaded lineup for 2019.

Realmuto is only 27 years old, so he has plenty of mileage in the tank barring injury. The Phillies are going for it in 2019 and Realmuto will be a major piece to any success Philly has this season.
