Sponsorship Renewal Positive For Stenhouse And Ford

Coming off a career year in 2017 winning at Talladega and Daytona has helped boost some morale and positivity at Roush Fenway Racing and especially for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Earning a career best nine top ten finish along with his first two wins in the Monster Energy Series had some hopes that Stenhouse would be the proven leader for Roush. So far he has even with the slow start to 2018, but his first top five at Bristol had brought sponsorship back on board for another couple of years.

Fastenal, Fifth Third Bank and Sunny D had announced on Tuesday that they will continue to sponsor Stenhouse through the 2021 season, ensuring that he will improve with more top tens and hopefully wins at not just Talladega or Daytona, but all around. Stenhouse had the Sunny D sponsorship on board at Bristol where he fought off several penalties and ended up finishing fourth after a marathon that lasted two days through Monday due to multi car wrecks and weather.

Another big annoucement came is that the Ford Mustang will return to the Monster Energy Series in 2019, which is also huge for Stenhouse. The Mustang will be the fourth different model to enter the Monster Energy Series since 1972 along with the Thunderbird, the Taurus and the Fusion. The Mustang has be used in the Xfinity Series since 2011 and with the success Ford has had early this year, it is a good time to introduce what is the fastest model ever built in its iconic history.

This is also huge for Ford as they have won four of the first eight races in 2018, Kevin Harvick winning three in a row and Clint Bowyer at Martinsville just almost a month ago. As fast as the Mustang is, it could help Stenhouse as far as speed is concerned including those who might make the switch.
