The History Making 163rd Game

For the first time since 2012, a division race will be decided with a 163rd game of the season.

This time, however, TWO divisions are up for grabs in a 163rd game.

There will be TWO winner take all division match-ups Monday, the first time ever in Major League Baseball history this occurrence has ever happened. The Milwaukee Brewers will travel to Wrigley Field to play the Chicago Cubs beginning at 1:05 PM eastern. While the Colorado Rockies will travel to Los Angeles to play the Dodgers at 4:09 PM eastern.

The losing teams will then play in the wild card win or go home game On Tuesday, only a mere 24 hours or so after their losing division battles.

As of now, the Cubs will be going with Jose Quintana, the Brewers are still up in the air with their choice to start, but it could be a bullpen game similar to what Tampa Bay has done all year. Milwaukee utilized the bullpen game strategy last week in a victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. The Dodgers will be sending out Walker Buehler (no relation to Ferris) and the Rockies are also up in the air as of this writing with their selection. However, they do not have the depth to successfully administer a bullpen game attack, so it’s anyone’s guess as to who goes out there for them.

This is why baseball truly is the best sport there is.

Brewers 6 Cubs 4

Dodgers 8 Rockies 2
