THERE’S A NEW “BONES” IN THE UFC

MIKE “BONES” RODRIGUEZ made quick work of JAMELLE JONES on episode 5 of Dana White’s Contender Series. It was also his 7th win via KO/TKO. After a feeling out process Jamelle’s take down attempt was stuffed by the bigger more proficient Bones. Mike then launched himself in air and blasted Jones with a right flying knee

for the finish. That knee then got the light heavyweight Bones a UFC contract. Who knows maybe one day Bones can meet up with champion/G.O.A.T JON “BONES” JONES. This by far was the most exciting overall card so far. As every fighter tried to one up the previous fight. Queens NY native; JULIO ARCE improved to 13-2, and a 5 fight win streak with his impressive TKO win over PETER “THE JOKER” PETTIES. Peter started fast, landing kicks with laser precision but Julio backed him up against the cage. Eventually his striking wore Petties down

as the fight was called at 2:39 into round 2. Which technically could have been called even earlier. ALEX PEREZ  as well improved to a 5 fight win streak. His vicious submission win over KEVIN GRAY got him a UFC contract as well. His well rounded skills should make every other flyweight take serious notice. He started quickly with strikes then started to land kicks when Gray went for a single-leg that was stuffed. Alex cinched in an anaconda choke as tight as the snake does with the same outcome. An opponent going to sleep. Gray went out at 2:54 into the fight.

Bantamweights; former WSOF fighter DONOVAN FRELOW and 24 yr old RICKY SIMON acted like rock em sock em robots. Ricky went to 10-1 with a very tough split decision win. Heavyweight  SHELTON GRAVES was the 3rd fighter on the card to get to a 5 fight win streak, as he pummeled  EVERETT SIMS; handing him his 1st career loss. The impressive TKO came at 2:20 into round 3.  Surprisingly it took that long to finish the fight as Everett was hit with 172 strikes while landing just 9 of his own.
